Silence the Violence - June Month of Action & Remembrance

19 years ago, the members of Church of the Messiah in Detroit were completely fed up with the gun violence in their community. So they decided to march.

The Silence the Violence March is a chance to remember the victims of gun violence and bring together all the local organizations working for peace and safety. It has now grown to an enormous thousand person event in Detroit and has spread all across Michigan as a month of action against gun violence.

Actions across the state each year include not only marches, but also community resource fairs, art projects, film screenings, vigils, and gun lock distribution.

Join the Episcopal Diocese of Michigan in weekly prayer for Silence the Violence.

Contact Your Legislators: Personal Protection Order Reform

Michigan is one of only 7 states where survivors of domestic violence have to pay in order to have a PPO served by someone other than their friends and family. Tell your legislators today that PPOs should be served by law enforcement for free!

Advocate here!

Help End Gun Violence Michigan ensure parents know to securely store their firearms.

Michigan's Safe Homes, Safe Schools law requires school districts to send out information about secure firearm storage to all parents in their district. Join our June 8th training to learn more about the law, and let us know if your school district has shared this information to your email, parent app, or as a flyer at our follow up form.
